A very satisfying job completed by RV Dart.
The full internal and external refurbishment of this Grade 1 listed and Scheduled Ancient Monument Completed for Winchester Cathedral included roof and masonry repairs together with structural alterations.
Specialist works included historic metal window repairs, stained glass restoration and Oak joinery throughout.

Winton Chapel, Winchester
The internal refurbishment and extension to a Victorian Chapel for The University of Winchester. The works consisted of highly detailed Oak joinery and wall panelling, the installation of a new font and Purbeck stone dais. New entrance doors and flooring.

We have operated from a permanent office and commercial unit for the last 15+years. We also have a general builder’s yard locally to our office. We have a good stock of general building materials, including general plant and equipment.
We are also proud members of The Chartered Institute of Building. This qualification allows the company to have Chartered Building Company status.We are members of the NHBC. We hold Silver membership for Construction Line, CHAS accredited, and Quality Assured to ISO 9001. We are Fully Insured with Public and Employers’ liability cover at £10milion. We also hold Professional indemnity Insurance up to £2million,We are Members with HCS Safety in Southampton. They are on call for all our projects. We use them for our H&S advice and inspections. They are also local and know the area well.
We carry out a broad range of building work including New Build & Extensions, Alterations & Refurbishments, Building Maintenance, and Historic Buildings work.

RV Dart has recently completed The University Of Winchester Business School Project to form a new Islamic Prayer Room.
The works consisted of converting the existing kitchen, office space & toilet area into new reception, consultation room, accessible toilet, and prayer room with wash facilities. This included new floor finishes wall decorations, installation of new ceilings, structural alterations & extensive mechanical & electrical works.
We are delighted to have collaboratively worked with the University of Winchester & Kendal Kingscott to deliver this successful scheme.

Gordon Lockhart, the church secretary, said: “For a number of years we have been battling with damp and made the decision in 2018 to rectify this issue. We appointed local architects Seymour Bainbridge to prepare the necessary documentation and in March 2019 commissioned RV Dart and Son Builders of Romsey to undertake the works for us. “The work involved removing all the old render, allowing the elevation to dry out before new render was applied and decorated. As with any work to old buildings, there were surprises along the way such as finding there was very little structural support to the balcony.” [Reported in The Hampshire Chronicle]
